How to tell between real and fake Labubu?

Fake Labubu figures have flooded the market, especially on secondhand sites and social platforms. Here's how to tell if you're getting the real deal.

✅ 1. Check the Box & Packaging

Real Labubu (Pop Mart official):

  • Clean printing with high-quality artwork

  • Includes Pop Mart logo, character name, and series title

  • Usually has QR code for authenticity check (more below)

  • The box is sealed (unless it’s from an opened full case)

Fake Labubu:

  • Dull or blurry print

  • Misspellings (e.g., “Labubu” spelled wrong)

  • No Pop Mart branding or uses inconsistent fonts

  • Sometimes oversized or oddly shaped box

✅ 2. Scan the QR Code

Official Pop Mart Labubu boxes have a QR code that links to authenticity verification.

How to check:

  • Scan the QR code using your phone’s camera

  • It should direct you to Pop Mart’s official website or app

  • If it says “Authentic Product” or shows product details, it’s real

  • If the code leads nowhere, or gives an error — it’s probably fake

⚠️ Be aware: some fake boxes have copied QR codes, but they fail verification or all lead to the same page.

✅ 3. Examine the Figure Closely

Genuine Labubu:

  • Clean paint lines and precise details

  • Glossy or matte finish depends on the series, but always consistent

  • Marked with Pop Mart/Kasing Lung branding on the foot or bottom

  • Articulation (if any) feels firm, not loose

Fake Labubu:

  • Sloppy paint, blurry facial details, or uneven coloring

  • Plastic feels light, hollow, or overly shiny

  • Often missing artist/brand stamps on the bottom

  • Limbs may feel cheap or break easily

✅ 4. Price Check: Too Good to Be True?

Typical price range (U.S.):

  • Blind box: $23–$27

  • Rare or limited Labubu: $30–$300+

  • Display box (12 pcs): $100–$150

If you see new, sealed Labubu for $5–$8, especially on random websites, it's probably counterfeit.

✅ 5. Buy from Trusted Sources

Buy from:

  • Pop Mart’s official website or app

  • Amazon (Pop Mart official store)

  • Verified retailers (Urban Outfitters, BoxLunch, etc.)

  • Known resellers with reviews (eBay, StockX, Carousell)

Avoid:

  • AliExpress, Wish, Temu

  • No-name IG/FB shops with sketchy payment methods

  • Listings with "Labubu-style" or “Labubu inspired” in the title

TL;DR: Real vs. Fake Labubu

Feature Real Labubu Fake Labubu
Box Sharp printing, Pop Mart logo Blurry or off-color
QR Code Scannable, verifies on site Leads nowhere or invalid
Figure Detailed paint, solid feel Messy, low-quality
Branding Pop Mart / Kasing Lung markings Often missing
Price $23–$27 or up Unrealistically cheap
