If you're into designer toys and collectibles, you've probably seen a fluffy, pink character with a sassy attitude popping up everywhere. This is Mokoko, one of the most hyped and valuable characters in the Pop Mart universe. But who exactly is this self-proclaimed superstar? Let's dive in.

Mokoko is a creation of Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung, a featured artist for the global toy giant Pop Mart. The character belongs to THE MONSTERS elf troupe and is a proud member of the LABUBU family.
Mokoko's origins lie in Kasing Lung's "Elf Trilogy" picture books, created in 2015. The trilogy includes:
The Mystery of Buca
Pedro and the Maiden
Miro's Requiem
Inspired by the artist's childhood exposure to European picture books, these stories are set in a mystical Nordic forest. The LABUBU family, including Mokoko, are ancient beings who have lived since before the Jurassic period, appearing as charming cameo characters throughout the books.

You can recognize Mokoko instantly by its:
Distinctive Fluffy Pink Hair
White Belly
Long, Curved Eyelashes
Heart-Shaped Nose
But its most defining trait is its personality: Mokoko is famously self-absorbed, confident, and fabulous. This "diva" persona has made it a fan favorite.

After the LABUBU family became a core IP for Pop Mart in 2019, Mokoko got its big break as the exclusive mascot for the Pop Mart City Park in Beijing, which opened in 2023.
Since then, Mokoko's star has skyrocketed:
2024: Participated in the park's New Year activities with its Fall into Springseries.
2025: Launched its first single, "Pinky Sweety," and performed in the Spring Sweethearts Party. In a viral moment, Mokoko appeared at a Hong Kong festival in a "Diva Empress" costume—complete with dragon robes and a scepter—breaking the internet. It also performed a collaboration track, "Bubbling Up," with Pop Mart's flagship IP, MOLLY.

For collectors, Mokoko is a serious business. Most products are vinyl figures released in limited "clamshell" blind boxes, leading to an intense aftermarket.

Mokoko isn't just a toy; it's a status symbol and an investment. The demand is staggering:
The Fall into Springseries had an original retail price of around 500.
In August 2025, a new Mokoko vinyl plush keychain had a retail price of 280.
Mokoko is a cultural phenomenon. It's a beautifully designed character with a rich backstory that has successfully crossed over from collectible toys into music, performance, and viral social media moments. For fans and investors alike, Mokoko represents the thrilling and lucrative world of modern designer toys.
