Every pattern in this library is completely free — no paywall, no email sign-up, no account. Pick a design, download the PDF, print it at 100% scale, and you are ready to cut leather.
This library now holds more than 50 original Feltify patterns: wallets, card holders, coin purses, bags, and travel accessories. Each pattern's page lists its finished dimensions, so you always know exactly what you are making before you cut. New designs are added as we draft them — our Pinterest board "200 Free Leather Patterns ideas" tracks the library as it grows.
Looking for something beyond the free range? Our premium Leather Patterns collection carries 250+ additional designs.
Wallets are the heart of this library — from two-pocket minimalism to 12-slot long wallets and chain-ready bikers.
Long wallets. The Multi-Card Slot Long Wallet for Men (9.5 × 20 cm) carries 12 card slots, an ID window, and three cash compartments — the most full-featured pattern in the library. The Leather Long Wallet and the Bifold Long Wallet are cleaner, lower-profile alternatives.
Biker chain wallets. The Long Biker Chain Wallet adds six card slots, four bill compartments, a buckle closure, and an optional chain connector. Prefer something smaller? The Small Biker Chain Wallet with Buckle and the Minimalist Classic Long Biker Wallet cover the middle ground — and the Tooled Floral Biker Chain Wallet is there if you want a carving-ready surface.
Billfolds. The Minimalist Leather Billfold and the Vertical Leather Billfold are the quick weekend builds; the Mens Streamline Billfold With Coin Pocket and the Unique Billfold With Flap Coin Holder add coin storage.
Women's & vintage. The Vintage Womens Leather Long Wallet With Buckle and the Vintage Leather Coin Wallet for Women round out the shelf.
Small goods are the fastest finishes in the library — most fit on one or two printed sheets and take an evening, not a weekend.
Card holders. Start with the Minimalist Leather Card Holder, the Leather Card Wallet, the Flap Card Holder, or the pocket-sized Mini Envelope Card/Coin Wallet.
Coin purses. The Semicircular Coin Purse (9.5 Ă— 8.5 cm) packs two pockets into a palm-sized build; the Accordion Coin Cards Wallet and the Minimalist Zipper Coin Cards Wallet swallow cards and change together.
Scrap-friendly: every pattern in this section is a good home for offcuts from bigger projects.
Ready for something bigger than a wallet? These four bag patterns are the next step up.
The Mini Leather Doctor Bag is a frame-mouth classic — small in size, big in gift appeal. The Small Leather Saddle Shoulder Bag and the Flap Bucket Shoulder Bag are everyday crossbody builds with simple, forgiving construction. The Cute Leather Elephant Backpack is a shaped novelty bag that works as a kids' gift or a statement piece.
Bags introduce new skills — gussets, straps, and hardware setting — so pick one after a small good or two, not as a first project.
Passport. The Free Passport Holder (15 Ă— 10.5 cm) fits three cards, a passport, and a boarding pass; the Leather Passport Wallet comes in two layout variants.
Keys. The Leather Envelope Key Wallet keeps keys from scratching everything else in your pocket, and the Hidden Keychain for Car tucks a spare fob away.
Desk & daily carry. The Leather Pen/Pencil Cover Case, the roll-up Pen & Pencil Roll, the Zippo Pouch With Belt Loop, the Glasses Holder, and the Flap Cigarette Case & Phone Belt Pouch. And for the dollhouse crowd: Pretty Cute Mini Leather Boots for Doll.
Tier 1 — learn to cut and finish (about an hour). A card holder or the Hidden Keychain for Car. One or two pieces, straight lines, and you learn edge finishing without committing a whole hide.
Tier 2 — learn to stitch (an evening). The Semicircular Coin Purse or the Pen/Pencil Cover Case introduce saddle stitching on forgiving shapes.
Tier 3 — multi-panel assembly (a weekend). A billfold or the passport holder teaches alignment: card slots, layered panels, and folded edges.
Two honest rules for a first project: go smaller than your ambition, and use firm vegetable-tanned leather around 1.0–1.2 mm — soft or stretchy leather makes clean stitching much harder to learn.
Rather skip sourcing leather altogether? Our DIY Leather Craft Kits come with full-grain leather, a needle, waxed thread, and hardware matched to the design — the shortest path from "pattern" to "finished" without a trip to the leather store.

Print at 100%. In the print dialog choose "Actual size" or set the scale to 100% — never "Fit to page." Fit-to-page silently shrinks a pattern by 3–8%, which turns a wallet into a cards-don't-fit wallet.
A4 vs US Letter doesn't matter — scale does. A pattern printed at 100% is correct on either paper; if a sheet runs past your paper size, tile the pages and tape them together.
Verify before you cut. Every pattern's blog post lists its finished dimensions. After printing, measure the longest edge of the main panel and compare it against those numbers. Off by more than a millimeter or two? Go back and check the scale setting.
Paper or cardstock? Plain paper works for a one-off build — trace it onto the leather and discard. If you will make the same design again, print on cardstock (or glue the sheet to thin cardboard) for a template that survives repeated tracing.
From paper to leather: tape or weight the pattern on the flesh side, trace with an awl or silver pen, then cut. The stitching and assembly steps live in each pattern's own post.
Everything in this library is a cut pattern: shaped panels you trace, cut out, and assemble into a finished object. Leather tooling templates are a different craft — decorative floral, Sheridan, or geometric designs that you transfer onto leather and carve or stamp into the surface.
We don't carry carving templates. If tooling is what brought you here, note that the two crafts pair well: many makers tool a design onto the front panel of one of these wallets before assembly. The pattern gives you the shape; the tooling makes it yours.
Are these leather patterns really free?
Yes. Every pattern on this page is a direct PDF download — no paywall, no email sign-up, no account. Click the download link in any pattern's post and the file opens straight away.
Are the patterns fully dimensioned?
Each pattern's blog post lists the finished dimensions (width × height, plus card-slot counts where relevant), and the PDF sheets are drawn to scale. Always print at 100% and verify one measurement before cutting — see the printing section above.
How do I print a leather pattern PDF at the right size?
Choose "Actual size" or 100% scale in your print dialog — never "Fit to page." Then compare the longest edge of the main panel against the dimensions listed in the pattern's post. Full walkthrough in the print & scale section.
What are some easy leather projects for a beginner?
Start with a card holder or key fob — one or two panels, straight cuts, about an hour. Move to a coin purse to learn stitching, then a billfold for multi-panel assembly. The beginner section walks the full progression.
How hard is it to learn leatherworking?
The basics — cutting, edge finishing, saddle stitching — are genuinely learnable in a weekend with a cutter, needles, thread, and an awl. What takes longer is consistency: even stitches and clean edges. Small goods are the fastest way to build that muscle.
What's the difference between leather patterns and tooling templates?
Cut patterns (everything here) define the shape of a project — the panels you cut and assemble. Tooling templates are decorative carving designs transferred onto leather. One builds the object; the other decorates it.
