This video tutorial follows our previous blog post, explaining how to make the surface of needle felting smoother. With our previous article, you will have a deeper understanding of how to make needle felting better. Without further ado, let's get started
We have prepared two balls with slightly rough surfaces. Next, we will optimize one of the balls to make the surface smoother, and the other ball will be used as a reference for comparison so that you can have a more intuitive feeling. The video will use the three essential tricks we mentioned above, 1. Wrap more wool 2. Fine needle, lightly stabbing 3. Rub it at the right time
Take a little white wool, spread it flat with both hands, then wrap it on the surface, and then use a fine needle to stab it lightly. The purpose of using a thin needle is to reduce the size of the pinhole, and the purpose of lightly stabbing is to reduce the number of pinholes and the surface's unevenness.
Keep rolling while stabbing. This is to ensure even surface felting
Pick it up and rub it in time to reduce floating hair and accelerate the surface felting
At this time, when you get close, you will see that there will be some places that are not stabbed and will protrude. Next, use a fine needle to stab them and rub them in time. After repeating this a few times, the surface is basically smooth.
Here you can see that the video is not accelerated, optimized to refine a ball, and doesn't need a long time. Of course, if the object to be made is large, you can add wool multiple times and repeat this process to achieve the same effect.
